How it's different from an instant story generator
An instant generator is faster because the AI writes the whole result. Plumakids takes longer because the child writes or dictates and edits the scenes. Master Quill asks questions and offers optional ideas; an explicitly chosen skip can add one replaceable sentence. A separate polished reading edition never overwrites the original draft.
What a session actually looks like
Your child picks a genre and a Story Spirit (their AI guide's personality), builds a hero, and then writes the story scene by scene with a five-scene guided arc or the full eight-beat structure. Master Quill asks one question at a time ("What does your hero see when they open the door?") and waits. No blank page, no pressure to be a "good writer" — just one small question at a time.
A book you can actually read at bedtime
When the last scene is done, the pages appear one by one in a private reader, and your child gets a printable book in their own words for tonight's bedtime read, or every bedtime after. New AI images and narration are disabled during the pilot.

Does the AI write the bedtime story, or does my child?
Your child remains the author: they write or dictate and can edit every scene. Master Quill asks questions and offers optional ideas. Only when the child explicitly chooses “skip this part” may it add one marked sentence that they can replace. AI helps create a polished reading edition; the original draft stays available. New AI images are disabled during the pilot.
How long does it take to generate a bedtime story?
Because your child is writing it, a full story usually takes 15–20 minutes total, often spread across a few bedtimes rather than one sitting. The guided path is shorter; the full structure takes longer.
Is there a free AI bedtime story generator for kids?
Plumakids is free during the alpha. A subscription is planned later to cover AI generation costs, but there's no credit card required to start.
Is this safe for young kids?
The Spain private pilot is ad-free, parent-controlled, and private by default. Discover and anonymous links are disabled, and invitations remain blocked until the documented legal and privacy approvals are complete.
Can it generate bedtime stories in Spanish?
Yes — the interface, the AI guide, and the finished story all work fully in English and Spanish, and a family can switch per session.
